Quick and Easy Recipes for Preparing a Sahur Meal
Ramadan is a time and occasion for spirituality and self-awareness. Through the month of Ramadan, Sahur meals are important as they give you adequate nourishment and energy to sustain yourself throughout the day.
Although Ramadan is one of the most important and loved festivals, waking up at 4 a.m. to cook a platter can be really exhausting.
In this post, we are pleased to present to you some quick and easy recipes for preparing a Sahur meal. We hope you enjoy your cooking!
1. Boiled Shrimp Wonton
Boiled Shrimp Wonton
Ingredients
- 12 Pieces EB Shrimp Wonton with Mushroom Seasoning
- 500 ml water
- Green Onions (Chopped) Garnish
Instructions
- Add mushroom seasoning soup powder into 500ml of boiling water
- Add 12 pieces of shrimp wonton into the soup and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- If you choose to microwave it, add the soup powder, 500ml of water and 12 pieces of frozen shrimp wontons into a microwavable bowl, then microwave for 3.5-4 minutes. Drain the water.
- Garnish with some green onions and it’s ready to be served!
The mushroom seasoning variety can also be enjoyed with your preferred sauce.

2. Seaweed Soup with Prawn Paste
This is an easy-to-make soup! With limited ingredients and an easy-to-follow method.
Seaweed Soup With Prawn Paste
Ingredients
- 1 packet MY Daun Prawn Paste small leafs
- 2 pieces Seaweed add more for a stronger taste
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp White Pepper Powder
- 1/2 tsp Sesame Oil
- 2 cups Water
- 1 tbsp Chives chopped finely
Instructions
- Whip the eggs into a liquid, shred the seaweed into small pieces and chop the green part of the chive finely.
- Fry the eggs, cut them into shreds
- Rinse the seaweed well and set aside
- Heat water in a pot until it boils. Reduce the flame and add the prawn paste and cook over low heat.
- Add the seaweed, the egg slices, salt and white pepper powder pepper.
- Let it boil for 5-10 mins until the flavours mingle.
- Add sesame oil, and chives before serving. Enjoy with rice or on it's own!

Roti John with Tempura Chicken Nugget
Ingredients

- 4 pcs Tempura Chicken Nugget (deep-fry)
- Bread
- Butter (adequate)
Ingredients B (egg mixture)
- 2 pcs eggs
- Spring onion (adequate, chopped)
- Salt to taste
Sauces
- Mayonnaise (optional, adequate)
- Chilli sauce (optional, adequate)
Instructions
- Heat some oil and deep fry Tempura Chicken Nugget until golden brown, set aside.
- Mix well the eggs, chopped spring onion and salt.
- Heat the pan with some butter, add in the egg mixture.
- When the egg is almost set, place the bread on the egg mixture.
- Add Tempura Chicken Nuggets on the bread.
- Spread some mayonnaise on one side, chilli sauce on the other side.
- It’s ready to serve.
